music / sounds

In addition to providing music and sounds for voice-overs for radio, TV, theater, advertising and technology, we work on two major projects: JZZBUCKET and DES SOURCES. The infectious music of JZZBUCKET (pronounce: jazzbucket) are solid beats, funky bass and lots of jazzy keyboards and horns. A mix of hip-hop, funky, jazz and electro. Each song is made up of 30 to 50 small music samples. These samples are played by us or come from old cassette tapes. We released the debut album “Excactly what you think it is” in 2010. Now ten years on, we have just released the fifth album “For the King of Crime,” a tribute to the crime writer Elmore Leonard.
With project DES SOURCES, we focus on musical compositions of the spoken word using the granular-synthesis method. With this technique, we divide a text read aloud into micro sound particles. Then we play those sound particles side by side, interchangeably, and cross-fade with each other until a layered play of sounds emerges. Each EP contains texts by famous philosophers such as Descartes, Hume and Pascal. Three EPs have now been released. WANTED The soundscape of the DES SOURCES project lends itself enormously to an art installation or video art. It would be great to collaborate with someone for this. Are or do you know that person? Get in touch with us!
With both projects we like to perform, possibly supplemented with a workshop or Q&A session. If you know of any venues or would like to book me, please let us know! We have given performances and workshops: Todaysart, ADE, DanceFair, Apple Store, Bax shop, Q-factory etc….
